Rectron (PTY) Ltd, founded in 1995 by Mark
Lu with a staff complement of 4, has in a very short period of time
grown to be the leading computer components distributor in Southern
Africa. Now firmly established as an international company our staff
complement has risen to 250 worldwide with 5 branches in South Africa,
2 in Australia and 1 each in Taiwan and the UK.
The company’s revenue
has grown from R75 million in 1995 to R740 million in 2002 and today
Rectron holds a dominant and overwhelming position in the South
African market. Operating profits have grown from R3 million to R46
million in the same period.
Rectron’s core
business is the importation and distribution of computer components to
computer dealers, resellers and systems integrators. Rectron was
established in 1995 distributing CPUs and memory modules and has
steadily grown it’s product range to one of the most comprehensive
available becoming a ‘one stop shop’ for the IT industry in South
Africa.
