Computer distributor Rectron, the leading components distributor in
SA, is opening a branch in Port Elizabeth to service dealers,
value-added resellers and systems integrators in the coastal and
inland areas spanning George to East London.
The new branch
office, which is to be headed by Jacqui Hammer, will distribute the
full range of products marketed and supported by Rectron nationally.
"Our expansion in
Port Elizabeth is key to our growth objectives in the Eastern Cape,"
says Hammer. "We see new business opportunities arising for Rectron in
serving what is becoming one of SA's fastest-growing industrial growth
areas with major developments such as the new Koega harbour and
related new business initiatives."
The new branch
will comprise five sales and two technical support personnel as well
as distribution and administration staff.
"One of the main
reasons for opening the new branch is because of the large number of
requests we've had from dealers in the Eastern Cape for us to have a
presence there," she says. "They know our products go beyond the
run-of-the-mill PCs, servers and printers which the other distributors
handle.
"We've therefore
decided to open a fully staffed branch offering top quality sales and
technical support from day-one.
"All the staff
will spend two weeks in Johannesburg learning about Rectron so that we
when we open the doors, we'll be able to deliver a first-rate service
with no surprises."
Among the
components and accessories to be distributed by the branch are Intel,
AMD and TwinMOS memory modules, Gigabyte motherboards, Gigabyte,
Leadtek and Matrox graphics cards, Intel server solutions and Intel,
Alfa Networking and Maxtor server networking accessories and A Open
desktop and server chassis.
The branch will
also represent leading branded products such as Canon and HP printers,
Toshiba mobile and server solutions Handspring PDAs, Maxtor, Fujitsu
and Ricoh storage solutions, Jazz speaker, Logitech devices and
Viewsonic Monitors.
